Position Information Posting Number TSU203030 Official TSU Title SERIALS MAIL CLERK II Grant Title N/A Summary / TWC Summary Under general supervision provides diverse technology serials assistance to Director of Law Library and completes special projects of a highly skilled nature related to the operations, functions, and activities of the department or division. Essential Duties Summary
  • Picks up incoming and outgoing mail from university post office. Sort and deliver mail to Law School and Library departments. Receives, sorts and delivers all incoming mail and packages according to assigned floors and within established time frames. Wrap, seal, weigh, affix postage and dispatch all outgoing mail/packages in accordance with postal regulations. Prepare special outgoing inter-office pouches to client affiliates. Package and process outgoing overnight items, i.e., Federal Express, UPS, etc. Deliver incoming overnight packages.
  • Checks in unbound periodicals, newsletters, newspapers, advance sheets, pocket parts and loose leaf on standing orders.
  • Processes new materials for Law Library in System (LLS) and online catalog, ownership stamping and placing tattle tape in books.
  • Open offices and classrooms as needed.
  • Picks up copy jobs from university copy center.
  • Circulation Desk Clerk responsibilities, including but not limited to: opening the library, reserving student study rooms, checking out books and reserve materials, answering the phones, logging complaints and office statistics. Logging outgoing and incoming items.
  • Maintaing golf carts by charging the vehicles and taking them to General Services Building for service appointments.
  • Transporting Law School administration, faculty, and staff members across campus per request.
  • Utilizes the library management system or electronic database to assist library patrons. Assists library patrons with use and operation of department equipment. Maintains departmental collections. Answers general questions and assists library patrons with locating library materials. Charges in/out materials for use by library patrons.
  • Maintains neat and orderly appearance of library materials. Ensures shelves and books are orderly and returns misplaced items to their proper locations.
% FTE 1.0 Hiring Range Commensurate with experience. Education High School Diploma or/and one (1) to three (3) years of related experience. Required Licensing/Certification None required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
  • Policies, procedures, and practices.

Ability to:
  • Monitor standard Library documents and equipment.
