Job Description

Our client is a nationally recognized manufacturer of plastic extruded products. Being in business for over 20 years, they have excelled in producing quality products for their customers on time. We are working closely with their General Manager and Manufacturing Manager to recruit a highly analytical and metric-driven Production Supervisor for their operation. 

Summary 

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing all activities within the assigned shift. Ensures the on-time production of quality products while handling the daily supervision of the department personnel. The appropriate candidate for this position is a results-oriented, self-starting team player who is strongly motivated to succeed and deliver results.

Responsibilities 

• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production, product quality inspection, packaging, and material handling activities.
• Ensure shift performance goals are achieved in order to meet quality, productivity, and customer delivery windows.
• Compile correct and accurate KPI data and populate end of shift report. Distribute to managers and appropriate operations and support personnel.
• Act as first step facilitator in all issues involving hourly employees including employee complaints and accident investigations.
• Lead and promote continuous improvement ideas and projects
• Lead employees in 5S projects and clean work areas
• Lead Safety Audits during the shift and correct any findings
• Identify and escalate issues for maintenance including work order entries for necessary repairs
• Work with Manager to coordinate operations and activities and between shifts.
• Any other duties as asked by Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements 

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a plastic production environment
• 3+ years of experience as a proven production supervisor/lead
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
