We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Construction Estimator to join our team. As a valued SERVPRO® franchise employee, you will receive a competitive pay rate, with the opportunity to learn and grow.

Position Summary:

This person will be responsible for estimating business within the Dallas market. The ideal candidate will possess a self-motivated attitude while looking to grow a career with a privately held company. This position will be focused on estimating within the verticals of Multifamily, Commercial Real Estate, Student Housing, Hospitality, Sr. Living Facilities and residential homes.

SERVPRO Team Shaw is looking for a Construction Estimator. Team Shaw is a full-service general contractor that specializes in providing renovation and construction services specific to insurance based construction clients using Xactimate and capital improvement.

Required Qualifications:

Necessary Experience and Skill Set

• 3-5 years previous construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting experience
• Superb customer service track record
• Effective written and oral communication
• Advanced math skills
• Proficient use of Xactimate™ estimating software a plus
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team Player
• Must have a good driving record
• Experience pulling permits
• Knowledge of Municipal Codes
• Sub-base is an added plus

Primary Responsibilities

1. Customer Satisfaction 

• a. Establish customer relationship for construction services
• b. Educate customers on the construction process
• Work with customers to understand desired upgrades/changes
• Ensure that estimates meet client requirements.

1. Project Initiation 

• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
• Create an accurate sketch and initial scope of work for construction projects.
• Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate.
• Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades
• Work with Project Manager to price bid items, if needed.

1. Project Planning 

• Identify and document finalized project scope of work.
• Work with outside resources as necessary to complete accurate estimates (i.e., Engineers, ITEL, Electrical Inspectors, etc.)
• Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates.
• Deliver and Communicate estimates to the Project Manager. 

Formal Education/Training

• BA in construction science, or similar relevant field preferred

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Frequent driving and sitting. Occasionally climbing ladders. The team member is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

This is a full-time position, working 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
